Music
Cairo First Church enjoys a robust music program, boasting a traditional Chancel choir, a handbell choir, and a contemporary praise band. All groups welcome new members at any time.
Contemporary Band
Our modern worship is led by Brian and Stacey Morgan and serves the 9:00 am Contemporary Worship Service. Music is guitar and keyboard driven and song choices are selected from new releases and favorites from the past along with an occasional hymn. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Come as you are, you’ll be loved!
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir currently meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 pm in the choir room for rehearsal. The Chancel Choir provides appropriate liturgical music weekly for the 11:00 traditional service as well as additional services throughout the year, including Easter, Christmas, as well as other opportunities to provide inspiration through musical offerings. Anthems are drawn from traditional and modern composers, providing a depth and breadth of traditional musical tradition. Soloist, duets and other musical offerings are welcomed,
Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm in the 3rd floor Handbell rehearsal room. The Handbell Choir plays a 5-octave set of Schulmerich Handbells, and a 5-ocatave set of Malmark Handchimes, drawing upon a repertoire of both sacred and secular bell arrangements. The choir performs on an approximate schedule of playing for service once per month. The Handbell Choir also participates in special services for Easter and/or Christmas, as well as other opportunities such as Wednesday Night Suppers, and other occasions. When held, the group participates in the regional Spring Ring clinic that serves the Southwest Georgia/Tallahassee Florid area, and features prominent handbell clinicians and composers who bring fresh inspiration to handbell ringing. New ringers are always welcome to join.
